Hunters in TBC PvP use a Survival/Marksmanship hybrid build that combines the best of both trees. This build pairs Aimed Shot's 50% healing reduction with Wyvern Sting's crowd control, creating devastating setups that can end games in seconds or slowly drain your opponent's mana pool with Viper Sting.
Hunter has a straightforward damage rotation but requires excellent positioning and timing to land traps consistently. Managing your pet, coordinating CC chains with your partner, and knowing when to kite vs when to pressure separates good hunters from great ones.

Mana Drain
Burst Windows
Strengths
Powerful CC chains with Scatter Shot, Freezing Trap, and Wyvern Sting
Aimed Shot provides a 50% healing reduction (Mortal Strike effect)
Viper Sting creates a secondary win condition through mana drain
Extended range with Hawk Eye talent lets you outrange most casters
Multiple trap types provide excellent kiting and control tools
Growl can eat Spell Reflection and Grounding Totem for trap setups
Weaknesses
Limited to specific compositions (primarily with Resto Druid or Disc Priest)
Deadzone mechanic requires careful positioning management
Relies heavily on landing traps to create kill windows
Vulnerable when caught in melee without cooldowns
